Launching a mobile app is the next big thing for team Kanary. Our team has built a web app loved by over 10,000 members, raised venture capital from top funds like YC & 2048, and grown to profitability. We’re thrilled to bring our core privacy service and new powerful on-device features to our members’ fingertips via this iOS app, Kanary Copilot. Our core team has already launched an app on TestFlight to positive reception from beta users. Now we’d like to work with someone who can help crank on Swift and level us up.

We’re looking to work with an experienced iOS developer for 12 weeks, starting as soon as possible with the option to extend.

What makes you a good fit?

You like building consumer apps and optimizing for UX. You are passionate about online safety and security. You’ve launched several apps and know what it takes to be successful with metrics like App Store rankings. You’re up to date with the latest WWDC news and experimenting with the latest iOS features.

What does the day to day look like?

Performance: Make the app smooth and fast to start, load, and use.

Integrations: Quickly integrate native iOS capabilities and 3rd party features.

Core features: Help us accelerate our roadmap.

Cutting edge: Explore new iOS functionality to improve UX.

Coaching & communication: Level up our engineering team.

Is this full time or part time?

We prefer full time. But if you are a great fit and do not have full time availability, please still reach out and let us know how you’d like to help.

What is the compensation?

We’re open to meeting folks of all comp and experience levels, in any market. Comp could be $60/hr - $100/hr.

Is this a remote position?

Yes, our team is fully remote with a hub in Seattle. Preference may be given to folks available to work on PST timezone, or local to Seattle.

What is the process?

Email [email protected] with a brief intro on who you are, what about the Kanary iOS app launch excites you, why you think you’re a good fit, and your worst App Store approval horror story. Please share links to your previous projects on GitHub or the App Store.

I’ll get back to you within a week, set up an intro, then scope a trial project.

Thanks for reading!
